Human rights center Viasna reports that attorney Sergey Khlystov has been sentenced to imprisonment in Gomel. The exact term of the sentence remains unknown.
Khlystov was charged under two articles: allegedly for “inciting hatred” and for “calling for sanctions”. News of his detention, along with two other attorneys, first emerged in April. Some of those detained were later released; however, one of them, the head of a legal consultation office, was dismissed from his position.
