Human rights defenders report the detention of Alexey Borodko, the attorney belonging to the Minsk Regional Bar Association.
According to the human rights defenders, the attorney was detained back at the end of January and is kept in Detention Center No. 1 on Volodarskogo Street. It is not clear yet what he is charged with.
The attorney’s profile was reportedly removed from the Association's website after his detention.
On April 21, 2023, the Qualification Commission on Advocacy terminated the attorney’s license due to the fact that he was excluded from the regional Bar association as a disciplinary sanction for committing an offense “incompatible with a lawyer’s title”.
