On February 10, 2023, the reporting and election conference of the members of the Minsk Regional Bar Association was held. At the conference, Vitaly Demidovich was elected chairman (he was also elected a member of the Qualification Commission on Advocacy in the Republic of Belarus). Since February 2022, he has held the position of Deputy Chairman of the Minsk City Bar Association. Elena Titenkova became deputy chairman.
The conference, as usual, was attended by the Deputy Minister of Justice, Nikolay Starovoitov, who pointed out in his speech “the need for careful selection of candidates for attorney trainees” and “careful preparation of lawyers for certification”, during which, according to the Deputy Minister, both knowledge of the law and personal characteristics are evaluated. Once again, “the need for precise and rigorous compliance by attorneys with the legislation” was voiced.
