The Organizing Committee of the Belarusian Human Rights Community Award has announced the list of this year's nominees.
It includes human rights defenders Oleg Ageev, Pavel Levinov, Natalia Matskevich, Uladzimir Labkovich, among others. Our project, Right to Defence, is also shortlisted in the category 'Human Rights Campaign/Initiative of the Year.'
The Award was established in 2008. The first laureates were human rights defender Boris Zvozskov, attorney Tamara Sidorenko, and journalist Semyon Pechenko. Over the years, the scope of the award has broadened. Today, it annually honours individuals and groups in various categories, including Human Rights Defender of the Year, Journalist of the Year, Attorney of the Year, and, since 2016, a Human Rights Campaign or Initiative of the Year for the contribution to the protection and promotion of human rights.
