The second article under which the human rights defender Nasta Loika is charged has become known.
The first article for accusation is Art. 342 Part 1 of the Criminal Code (“organization of group actions that grossly violate the public order”).
The second article is Art. 130.3 of the Criminal Code ("incitement of racial, national, religious or other social hatred or discord"). The basis for the latter charge was Nasta's alleged involvement in writing a report on the persecution of the anarchist community in Belarus in 2018. The report is critical of the activities of police officers, which investigators in Nasta's case qualify as "incitement of hatred" against a professional group of police officers.
Human rights activists consider such charges against Nasta to be further evidence that the human rights defender is behind bars solely for her human rights activities.
