Belarusian Association of Human Rights Lawyers (and, inexplicably, our website) Designated an “Extremist Formation”

The Belarusian Association of Human Rights Lawyers (BAHRL) reported that on 22 August 2025, the Association was designated an “extremist formation” pursuant to a decision of the KGB dated 18 August 2025. The Association also noted that several individuals “unaffiliated with the organisation” were likewise listed as members of this so-called “formation”.

For reasons that remain unclear to us, the website of the “Right to Defence” project and its Telegram channel were also included among the “information sources” allegedly linked to the Association (“extremist formation”).
