One of the Attorneys Detained on February 28 Ended Up in a Forced Exile

Galina Parkhimchik is one of the attorneys detained on February 28. She wrote on her social media: " I had to leave my beloved country as well...."

On February 28, Galina was detained by KGB officers for participating in a protest on July 16, 2020. In addition, she was accused of providing financial assistance to victims of repression through Facebook. Galina was placed in a detention center. A week later, she was released under travel restrictions as a suspect.

Galina Parkhimchik has repeatedly defended political prisoners. Her experience as an attorney spans over 30 years.

Her son, Victor Parkhimchik, was also a political prisoner. He was released after serving his full sentence and then left Belarus.
