On October 8th, it became known to journalists that a search had been conducted in the apartment where disbarred Belarusian attorney Maria Kolesava-Hudzilina is registered. The apartment, located in Zhodino, was searched by KGB and OMON officers.
The attorney associates the recent search with her professional activities.
"...It is clear to me that the search is also a response to my work. After all, I visit many places and speak out about the pressure that the Belarusian authorities are exerting on people. And I can certainly say that the pressure on attorneys, including those who have already left Belarus, continues."
Maria defended blogger Eduard Palchis, Dmitry Popov (social media moderator of "A Country to Live in" project), former investigator Yevgeny Yushkevich, and singer Tima Belorusskih.
Maria Kolesava-Hudzilina was disbarred in May 2022 and soon left Belarus. On 30 September, her Instagram page was designated as "extremist materials”.
