Attorney Anastasiya Lazarenko Will Be Tried for Counseling Next to Temporary Detention Center in 2020

Human rights defenders have become aware of another accusation brought by the investigators against attorney Anastasiya Lazarenko. She was detained on June 2, 2022 — two days after her 40th birthday. The detention video shows law enforcers bursting into the house with weapons from all sides, breaking the door and window.

First, a criminal case was initiated against her under Part 3 of Article 130 of the Criminal Code for "communicating data of law enforcement agents and judges to Telegram channels." Now it has become known that she is also accused under Art. 203-1 of the Criminal Code (illegal actions with information concerning private life) and Part 1 of Article 342 of the Criminal Code (organization and preparation of actions that grossly violate public order). According to the investigation, she allegedly organized an "unauthorized mass event" when she consulted individuals near the Okrestina temporary detention center in August 2020.

She could be tried soon.
